Choice of treatment varies depending on extent, nature, and severity
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I am Dr. Kakkar (Dermatologist and Venereologist). I have gone through your query and I have noted your concern.
Generally, steroids (either oral or topical or both) are first line treatment for acute eczema or an acute exacerbation of eczema. Other topicals like calcineurin inhibitors (tacrolimus, pimecrolimus), moisturizers etc are also used to treat eczema.
Oral immunosuppressives like methotrexate, cyclosporine, azathioprine, mycophenolate mofetil may also be utilized for eczema treatment depending on the extent, severity, and nature of eczema.
Feel free to ask further.
Regards
