Brief Answer:
Treatment with ACE inhibitor or Amlodipin is needed
Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,
It is quite common, when patients have normal blood pressure on see level and elevated blood pressure on high attitudes.
If you were my patient, I would start either from Amlodipine 5 mg or an ACE inhibitor, e.g. Ramipril 5mg, if it doesn't help in two weeks, dose may be added, or a combination with diuretic . Talk with your doctor about treatment options .
Also remember to take less salt.
Hope I could help you
Wishing you good health

Do you think it is okay to stop the meds when my system adjusts to altitude or wait until I return to sea level

Brief Answer:
Welcome back
Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,
When your blood pressure is low for some days you can try to lower medications doses and see if blood pressure is Ok, try to withdraw slowly. But don't discontinue medications abruptly.
Take care
