A highly raised level of CRP is suggestive of acute viral and bacterial infections. It is interpreted in association with other tests to detect the exact cause of infection in the body.
The normal concentration of CRP in the serum of a healthy human is usually lower than 10 mg/L. A value of >200 mg/L s seen n the incidence of severe bacterial infections and burns.
