Why has it suddenly jumped to 200?? I'm very concerned about this sudden increase.
Any suggestions?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
It is understandable to be concerned since it is not normally at this level.
Though it is higher than normal, it is important to remember that the definition of prediabetes involves fasting blood sugars of 100 to 125 and a 2 hour post meal of 140 to 199.
If your reading was done more than 2 hours after you ate then it is definitely too high but this would be related to the carbs in the meal.
Chips and beer would both contain carbs, chips are basically mostly carbs and beer is known to raise blood sugar.
Either of these would cause an abnormal increase especially in someone who is already a prediabetic.
Since it is not at a danger level, you can monitor it tomorrow. You should do a fasting blood sugar and also consider a 2 hour after at least one or more of your meals to get an idea of your blood sugar levels and determine if you have become diabetic.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
