Question : In XXXXXXX 2015 i was infected with a parasite entomeoba hystolytica. It was not diagnosed and treated until april of 2015. I then got phnemonia in late april right after recovering from the parasite. My immune system seems to be week and i got phnemonia in XXXXXXX 2016 again and then brinchitus in april 2016. I recently had blood work and was advised my liver enzymes were two times the normal range at 60. Im not a heavy drinker drink little for months but will over indulge very 4 months or so. Is it possible my liver was damaged by tge parasite? It seems both my inmune systen and now my liver enzymes are up when i never had issue before. Ive cut down on caffeine and processed foods increaded exercise. I have not drank since being told about elevated enzymes. My gp advised to reduce alchol and caffeine. Is this sonething i should stop totally. Any advice on all the abovd is appreciated.

Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
Very frankly speaking, our modern lifestyle is responsible for rise in liver enzymes in most of the cases.
Off course alcohol is the biggest culprit behind rise in liver enzymes but there are other reasons also, which need to be addressed.
What to do....
1....quit alcohol.
1... Avoid fatty and oily diet, junk foods like pizza burger, noodles etc.
3...avoid colas
4... Consume more of fresh fruits, green vegetables and nuts.
5...avoid saturated fats and limit intake of non veg
5...avoid herbal supplements and painkillers
6... Do regular aerobic exercises for at least 45 minutes a day
7.. Shed your weight and try to be in your normal range of your BMI.
These measures would make your liver enzymes normal in next 3-4 months time.
In case if you find that your liver enzymes have not become normal in next 3 months or if they increase,in spite of your best efforts, then you would need to be investigated thoroughly to look for various other non common reasons.
I hope it helps, however you are most welcome to revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
