Question : Hi for a while about 3 or 4 times a week when I eat, food gets stuck half way down and it's so painful I have to vomit for relief. Lately I feel dizzy when it happens to

ello. I have been through your question and understand your concern.
I think you are suffering from esophageal achalasia, which is difficulty of the esophageal muscles to push down the food to the stomach causing the symptoms you are describing.
Basically if nifedipine would relieve the symptoms it would be quite for sure a definite diagnosis, but I recommend talking to your GP before that, in order to schedule you to have esophageal manometry.
Basically it is a benign situation. Do not worry.
