Brief Answer:
Please see detailed answer

Detailed Answer:
Hi, this is Dr Sameer, cardiologist.
Lower leg swelling has a variety of causes. Considering few important & relevant for you.
1) Low protein - Albumin protein in our body keeps the fluid in vascular system. Its deficiency causes fluid to shift outside & accumulation in dependent part of body like legs.
2) Weak heart - A weak heart can cause fluid to accumulate in dependent parts of body due to back pressure change.
3) Inflammation of adjoining joint - this can be because of rheumatoid arthritis, gout.

So I'll recommend you for some tests to rule out above condition & which will decide the management plan:
2D Echo, Serum proteins, X Ray of the joint, Serum Uric Acid & RA Factor.
Their is no need to take Lasix now.
I hope i have answered your query. If you have any other question, I'll be happy to help.
Thanks
Wishing you a healthy life
