Question: I have exercised induced bronchial spasms which is usually controlled by singlular and cpac. Was hiking up 800 feet today and had to stop evey few feet to stop the huffing and puffing. After about a mile, I also became very fatigued. Was fine going down. What's going on?

Brief Answer:
You should consult pulmonologist and get done PFT.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Sometimes, exercise induced asthma can be worsened and stays even after stopping exercise.
And this is true with going on height.
As you progress upwards, oxygen concentration in atmospheric air is decreasing.
So work of breathing is definitely increasing.
And in some cases, this can cause uncontrolled breathlessness and fatigued.
So at present, it is better to come down and consult pulmonologist. You need to get done clinical examination of respiratory system and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health. Thanks.

Thank you for your quick response. I take one singular tablet the night before I go hiking and the one of the cpac tablets just before the hike begins. This regime had been working up until yesterday. I wonder if I should be taking the medications daily?
