Suggest Treatment For Explosive Diarrhea
Question: Good Morning Dr.
I have had explosive diarrhea since Saturday morning. It comes on with little warning. I thought it was food poisoning from eating out Friday night. I have taken 3 immodium d caplets and it doesn't appear to be working? I don't remember having a round of diarrhea this long ongoing. Any ideas?

I am sos osrry to hear about this explosive diarrhea that you have, Given the short duration, it is most likely linked to food. Imodium makes it worse by retaining the germs for longer periods in the intestines. Stop this drug and drug much water to replace any possible fluid losses and these symptoms would progressive disappear.
There is no need for any aggressive medical intervention at this time unless you report some more symptoms.

Wow. Never knew that about Immodium. I very rarely get diarrhea. Sometimes I experience constipation but than I try to up my fiber intake and that problem is very short lived. I hope this goes away soon. What items are safe to eat? My stomach rumbles a lot and I think it's because I am expelling all my food and I am somewhat hungry.
