Suggest Treatment For Fatigue, Cough, Severe Abdominal Muscle Cramps And Soreness

default
Posted on Wed, 14 Oct 2015
Question: Hello, I am a healthy 40 year old female. I have had a temp hovering between 101-102 since Thursday. I haven't been sick in 20 years so not sure what it is. I guess it could be the flu since I also have had horrible muscle cramps and soreness fatigue etc. Two things that bother me the most is 1) I feel like I have sharp menstrual cramps (for the last few weeks, but worse since Wednesday where I had some random bleeding) 2) Thursday morning my chest felt like it was on fire…I have a bit of a cough now with clear plegm.. The pain associated with these menstrual-type cramps wakes me up/keeps me from sleeping more so than anything else. I had the Essure implants about 8 months ago, my last period was Sept 10-14…The only other weird thing going on is I feel the pressure as if I need to relieve my bowels, but I can't/don't think I have to poop? Thoughts?

Hello Dr. XXXXXXX
No, I am not on any medication, supplements, or herbal teas (I occasionally take a women's multivitamin but that is all.) I eat well and have always maintained a healthy weight.

I do not have any health challenges or diagnosed diseases/issues.

The past surgery was the previously mentioned Essure implants about 8 years ago. One c-section 5 years ago and a couple laproscopic surgeries 13 & 18 years ago for endometriosis and adhesions.

Thank you,
XXXX

Brief Answer:
Recurrence of adhesions / endometriosis

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Thanks for additional information.

Following is my explanation and advice:

1. It is possible that the adhesions and endometriosis have worsened over the years. These have lead to the painful cramps and abdominal pain. This is the most possible reason.

2. You need to get an ultrasound scan done to identify the possibility of endometriosis and any other significant problem like fibroid.

3. Chest pain is likely to be due to be due to gastritis (acidity). I suggest you take antacids available over the counter twice daily before breakfast and dinner. This will relieve you of the chest pain if it is due to gastritis. Take this for 15 days to find relief.

I hope your doubt is cleared.

Let me know if you need any more clarification. I Will be glad to help you.

Regards

Do people ever have fevers when they have endometriosis or fibroids? Or do I possibly have the flu in conjunction with everything else?

Brief Answer:
Fever is unrelated to this

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Fever is unrelated to these problems. This fever is likely to be due to flu and not associated with these events.

Fibroid and endometriosis are long term issues and are not related to fever.
