Brief Answer:
Fecal incontinence.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic gfor your query.
The problem you are having is called fecal incontinence.
Most likely in your case reason is degeneration of nerves and muscles with age.

As per your query, these are the surgical options involved-

Sphincteroplasty. It repairs a damaged or weakened anal sphincter. Doctors identify an injured area of muscle. They then bring the muscle edges back together and sew them in an overlapping fashion, strengthening the muscle and tightening the sphincter.

Sphincter replacement. A damaged anal sphincter can be replaced with an artificial anal sphincter. When inflated, the device keeps your anal sphincter shut tight until you're ready to defecate. After defecating the device then reinflates itself.

Sphincter repair (dynamic graciloplasty). In this surgery a muscle is taken out from the inner thigh and wrap it around the sphincter, restoring muscle tone to the sphincter.

Colostomy (bowel diversion). This surgery diverts stool through an opening in the abdomen.

Please discuss these options with your surgeon.

Regards
