Question: Hi Dr. Grief, I am a 55 yr. old woman living in a Nursing home. I have had three stokes in my life and tonight I noticed when I am lying down in bed on my back and tighten my abdominal muscles, there is a knot that I feel on the area on my upper umbilicus. I have never noticed this before. Thank you and God bless. XXXXXXX

Brief Answer: need more information. Detailed Answer: Hi XXXXXXX , thanks for using HCM. I went through the query and understood your concern. Since you have noticed knot in upper umbilical area, I want few information on it. 1. What is the size, consistency and how it looks? 2. Is it fixed to skin or underlying tissue? 3. Is it painful or any local raised temperature. 4. Is there any similar lesion in other sites. These information will help us in diagnosing the problem. I will be waiting for your reply. Wish you good health. Regards
