I am sorry to know that your child is not doing well. However, most often such episodes are due to some viral infection. The mainstay of treatment in such cases is ORS. Unless the salts and water lost through loose stools is replenished adequately, dehydration may develop and complicate the matters. You need to monitor the urine output. If the child does not pass normal amounts of urine it means that adequate ORS is not being given and you need to increase the supplementation. Avoid giving milk for the time being. Give some zinc supplement like Zinconia syrup 2.5 ml once daily. You may give curd or yogurt. Try giving small amounts of food but do not force.
You will have to be patient as it may take a few days for the loose motion to stop. Till then continue giving ORS.
