Question: My 2.8 year old is a little underweight but very active and plays around. He has a little big tummy so i decided to deworm him and our family doctor suggested Mebex which we started since last nite and another dose this morning but after the medicine he has got fever Which isnt too high but around 100 to 101. I am giving him crocin but is this expected to go cuz he aint showing any other symptoms except a slight runny nose which has also stopped. Im worried. Pls help.

Brief Answer:
You need not worry.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

Since you mention that runny nose has been present, I would consider the fever more likely to be due to some respiratory tract infection. It is not unusual and might last for 5-7 days irrespective of treatment. If the child is active and playful, I would not really worry. But in case the child becomes lethargic, you would have to rush the child to a pediatrician. Till then, crocin will help in bringing down the temperature.

Hope that helps.
