Question : My brother-in-law is a 58 year old down syndrome. He has 99.3 fever and his neck is very sore. He is very sensitive to pain. I thought he just had a crick in his neck but the fever made me wonder if it could be more serious.
Brief Answer:
Serious issue less likely
Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I am Dr.Barani and I am pleased to assist you.
If you are thinking it could be more serious like meningitis, I would say the chances are less in the absence of other symptoms like severe head ache, irritability and stiffness in the neck.
You can give Tylenol and see how he is responding.

Dr.Barani
