Posted on Mon, 6 Apr 2015
Question: I have been taking lisinpril and clonidine XXXXXXX 2010. Was diagnosed with afib at emergency room 2 days ago. They got the afib converted and released me with Atenolol. Now I am having fever, head and muscle aches on and off. Should I reduce the dosage of atenolol and take doe of lisinopril too. What about the clonidine.

Brief Answer:
Probably an infection, no need to change dosage

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

the symptoms you've mentioned are usually caused by infections. I cannot guess which infection caused it because these symptoms are common in many conditions.

Unless your blood pressure or heart rate are low, there is no need to change the dosage of the drugs. Just a general comment: clonidine is not a first-line drug for hypertension and I don't know the reasons that this drug has been prescribed to you. If you haven't reached the blood pressure goals, then perhaps you should discuss it with your doctor. If you have, then keep in mind that whatever works is a good choice!

I hope I've helped!
