Brief Answer:
About getting fibromyalgia treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

My mom had fibromyalgia, so I know how much pain it can cause.

I don't know the English NHS well, so please excuse me if I make recommendations that are not realistic.

If you can't get in for 2 months, is it possible to go to an urgent care clinic (A and E), at least to get some medication to help the pain? Uncontrolled pain is an urgent problem, even if the underlying problem is chronic. In the US, increasingly, doctors are hesitant to prescribe narcotic pain meds, but most would not have a problem with prescribing certain antidepressants that can help relieve pain such as amitriptyline. This can greatly reduce fibromyalgia pain. Start at a low dose and progress after a couple of weeks.

Lyrica (pregabalin) is a medication approved specifically for fibromyalgia.

If none of the above is possible, take ibuprofen 3 times a day. Be sure to have food in your stomach first to prevent stomach irritation.

If you have a warm water therapy pool that you have access to, gentle range of motion exercises can provide some relief.

One other thing: Fibromyalgia can mimic other health problems such as autoimmune disorders, so it is a diagnosis of exclusion, meaning we need to rule out other causes first. That said, it is still important to treat the pain while looking into other things (which can be done later when you get in for your appointment).

I hope this helps. I am sorry you are suffering with this.
