Brief Answer:
Flatulence dyspepsia

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for the query.

From the description provided by you, I feel that your husband might be suffering with Flatulence dyspepsia. In this, there is production of gas(flatus) along with difficulty in digestion of food and burps.

The most common cause of this in your husband would be long term consumption of outside food.

Ask him to follow these instructions:
1. Consume plenty of water (min 2 to 3 lts/day). Keep a water bottle on the working desk and keep sipping water on and off as required.
I also advise to drink a glass of water an hour before and after food to make sure of intake of adequate water.
2. Avoid excess consumption of tea/coffee/hydrogenated drinks.
3. Avoid smoking and alcohol, if any.
4. Antacids like Digene or Gelusil syp, 2tsp in 50ml of water three to four times a day half an hour before food.
5. Maintain a gap of atleast 2 hrs in between dinner and going to bed.
6. Avoid spicy and oily food for few days till the symptoms are resolved.

Hope this answers your query. If any further clarifications, will be happy to help.

Regards.

Brief Answer:
Avoid citric juices

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Avoid citric fruit juices as these will increase the acid levels in the stomach, increasing his problems. Rest you can give all kind of fruit juices.

You can give him cold milk. It would be difficult to find an alternative for tea as it contains nicotine and people addicted to tea would require tea only. You can ask him to reduce the frequency of consumption of tea. Two cups a day, morning by 11 and evening around 5 should be fine.

Hope this answers your query. If any further clarifications will be happy to help you.
