Earlier for last 9 year i was on human mixtard.Current doses was 14 -12.
But 2 months ago i saw a doctor at that time my Hb1Ac was 7.9.The doctor changed my insulin.
and now i am taking levimir 15 units at bed time and novorapid 8-8-8 units before meal.
But i am noticing very frequent sugar dropping to 58-41 any time in day or in night (in sleep)
Or high sugar after meal 167 after breakfast 149 after lunch likewise.
Everyday i am facing low sugar symptoms any time which is inconvinient for me .And to avoid this if i eat more then high sugar level.
Kindly suggest what to do?
further about 8 months ago i have done following test:
C-Peptide:1.96 ng/mL
GAD-65: 0.59 IU/mL
ISLET CELL ANTIBODY:NEGATIVE
I have tried glycinorm 40 mg to replace insulin in past but of no use.
Kindly advice me what to do as in coming year i want to plan for my family also.
You have to monitor and fix the dose correctly
Detailed Answer:
Dear friend, as I see you are suffering from type1 diabetes? You need to be on insulin dose to suit your body. You have to monitor the sugar levels yourself with the help of a well calibrated glucometer. And keep a record. After 10 days or 15 days, meet your doctor get the dose fixed. You need to have regular dietary habbits and diet chart to suit your lifestyle. Need to exercise, at least walk formed an hour. Yoga and meditation also helps. Check the HbA1c , it should be at least 6.5%. Or less. Also check your thyroid hormone profile, and microalbuminuria too. If you can regularize the insulin dose , most of the problem s will be cured. You need not worry for family you r just normal with correct insulin dose . Feel free to contact us for more . Thanks
