Brief Answer:
dry skin may cause your symptoms.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Can You please send a picture of your rash?

Do you have:
-small red bumps or white-headed pimples with pus around hair follicles,
-red and inflamed skin,
-itchy or burning skin?

If yes it may be folliculitis. For mild infections, your doctor may recommend the antibiotic cream.

Another possibility is that you have a rash because of scratching your skin. Legs are very common dry skin areas. You can see cracks and red patches also itching and rough skin are typical for dry skin.

For dry skin I suggest you daily lubrication with an emollient or over-the-counter moisturizer (ointment or cream rather than a lotion) that contains an oil such as olive oil. You should apply it at least twice a day especially after a shower or bath. Also try to limit your time in the shower or bath.

Please note that long-term application of corticosteroid creams (desonide cream) may cause skin thinning.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
