Question : I am a 44 year old White Female and I have had allergies to Nuts and Berries since I was born. Over the years I developed Food allergies at a rate of 1 per year until I became 30 yrs. Since that time the problem has accelerated to the point that I find a new allergy about every 6 months. I develop sores in my mouth, my throat swells closed, and I get dizzy. I am currently allergic to Black Pepper, Tomatoes, Garlic, nuts, berries, and Thyme. I also get severe hives from Dog and Goat hair. My allergist advised me to just avoid the foods I react to but they are affecting my quality of life daily. Do you have any idea what could be causing this?

                                    Brief Answer:
Adverse immune response
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
Your immune system is adversely reacting to the different substances producing allergy.
The best way to tackle is to avoid the allergen. If not you require to take medicines that are not without side effects.
Take care

Is there a specific illness that could be causing this? It seems to be progressing and soon there wont be anything that I can eat.

                                    Brief Answer:
No particular illness
Detailed Answer:
There is no specific illness which produces this change but increasing food allergy has been noted with Vitamin D deficiency. Omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants have been found to decrease the incidence of food allergy.
You could check your Vit D level and if low try correcting it and try supplements of antioxidants and Omega 3 fatty acids.
