Question: I think it's food poisoning from a canned soup last night. Vomiting. Dizziness. Still nauseous but there is nothing to throw up. It's been 12 hours now and the dizziness continues and the nausea remains.

Brief Answer:
can take a few days for complete improvement

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It can sometimes take a few days for the symptoms to completely resolve.

Fluids would be important to restore any fluids and electrolytes loss by vomiting. Loss of these would contribute to your dizziness. Oral rehydration solutions or gatorade may be best because they would give back both the fluids and electrolytes.

The use of probiotics would help to speed up resolution by restoring normal flora.

These can be used on their own or by using yogurts with probiotics.

In addition, you can consider meds such as pepto bismol or dramamine to reduce the nausea.
Either of these would be available over the counter

When you restart eating, use only small amounts of bland foods initially.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Thanks you. I still feel shaky and nauseous. I'll try the dramamine. Do you think I should try to get in to see my MD today?
