Question : Hi, I am diabatic and I drop a pair of garden shears on my foot 5 days ago, got a little puncture wound and swelling ,.I starting talking amoxicillin and some of the swelling went down,also the inside of the wound looks like its developing a scab . My question is is it normal to have some swelling after 5 days? And does it sound like my foot is infected ?

Diabetics are very prone to develop foot infections.
Yes swelling can persist for long.
I would advise you following:
1. To take a combination of Amoxycillin and Cloxacillin for 5 days.
2. To apply local antibiotic cream like Mupirocin oint locally.
3. To keep your blood sugars under strict control.
4. To take serratiopeptidase for rapid healing.
5. See your doctor for local examination to rule out any gangrene.
