Question : Hello,

My 2 yr old sons foreskin is very tight. And his pee hole is almost invisible. the urin stream is thin. I remember his paed prescribing a steroid cream to loosen it. Can you please prescribe a cream as I lost the prescription

Foreskin tightness is frequently encountered in children. Usually it resolves gradually. The main concern is that it can lead to localized inflammation and an entity called balanoprosthitis. It is only if there is localized inflammation and redness that steroid creams can help in reducing the inflammatory reaction. Steroid creams will not help in loosening the foreskin. Rather, it will reduce the local immunity, thus predisposing to infections. Hence I would not recommend using any steroid creams.
