Suggest Treatment For Frenulum Mouth Tear

Question: I think i cut my frenulum in my mouth off. Will it heal? I've put Triamcinolone Acetone Dental Paster USP, 0.1% on it? Please help. i don't know what to do. i did this will my finger nail and it look really bad. it looks as if the frenulum has split open.

I have seen the picture it is quite a bad cut I would suggest you to visit a doctor..it might heal itself but at the place where you got it cut..

there is duct of a salivary gland you just have ti get it checked that the duct is intact.. everything else would be fine if the duct of sublingual grland is fine.

What exactly is that gland? please provide more information.

thanks for writing back,

It is a gland which porduces saliva and its mouth opens in franulum...

you can see on google "opening of sublingual gland" the only concern in frenulum. cut is damage to the gland duct which you have to rule out..everything else can heal.

What are your opinions, it looks pretty bad but the gland that you mentioned is ok. Thank you again, since this is my last question could you please tell me as much as you can, do you still recommend seeing a doctor or wait a week or two before i do. will it heal normally? i can still produce saliva if that means anything, thank you so much sir, this has been very very helpful.

Hi,

well its great if the gland is safe,

production of saliva isn't anything specific because there are 6 glands in mouth which produce saliva in mouth only two of them open in frenulum.

Well about healing i would say your cut is quite a bad one, will heal but it might not end up healing like the frenulum you had before it may appear divided, even if you go to the doctor i doubt if he will try to stick the divided ends up.

This will heal up in a time of five to even days but i will still suggest you see a doctor

1) they will see if any vital strcture is damaged.

2) They might try to re join the divided ends.

I would suggest you not to panic it will heal it's not dangerous but it's a big cut take real good care of mouth hygiene and dont use sour spicy foot ,

have a safe weekend.
