Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Thank you for writing in to us at health care magic. This is Dr.Riyanka Chail glad to be answering your query.
I understand your concern and irritation because of the troublesome epigastric pain and nausea.
Since you have been through a lot of tests which seem to be normal i would suggest along with medication you need to do certain life style changes.
Kindly consult your doctor for the epigastric pain for medications like :
1. Tablet omeprazole 20mg (proton pump inhibitor) available over the counter - half an hour before breakfast daily for 2 months.
Along with this certain diet modifications are required:
1. Eat 6 small meals instead of 3 large meals.
2. Take a bland diet. Avoid spicy food. Eat good amounts of fruits and vegetables.Drink good amounts of water - 2 litres /day.
3. Do not stay empty stomach for more than two hours. Snack up on a biscuit or salad or bowl of fruits - like papaya which help in digestion.
4. Take yogurt (they have probiotics which help the digestive system).
5. You can take digestive enzyme syrups available over the counter.
6. Go for a walk in the morning and evening. Keep yourself occupied with your hobbies - gardening, pets, meditation. Speak to people around you .
Most of the symptoms of nausea and epigastric pain can be correlated with too much stress and excessive work hours. Hence, you need to relax.
Having 6 small meals at regular intervals will reduce nausea and epigastric pain. Also take your dinner atleast two hours before your sleeping time.
Kindly try doing this for a week and you ll notice a good change.
Could you also send me a detailed history of the medications you are on?
Hope this answered your query.
