Brief Answer:
Hello. Chemotherapy is justified.

Detailed Answer:
So from the information, your father seems suffering from carcinoma of prostate that has spread to bones and liver. Chemotherpy (docetaxel injection) is justified at this point of time if his physical condition is ok as judged by your doctor.
Other drugs which are available at this stage are other hormonal agents like abiraterone and enzalutamide therapy. But in my opinion also if physical condition is good then to go for chemotherapy. Abiraterone and enzalutamide can be used later on.
Thanks and regards

Brief Answer:
Hello. Honvan is also another hormonal agent

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear. You will have to wait for the full action of honvan. However i cannot say whether it will be active or not. results vary from patient to patient. However if he is physically fit, then docetaxel chemo is a very good drug. If he is not fit then either honvan, abiraterone or enzalutamide are good options.

Life expectancy depends upon several other factors. Many patients do very good on these medicines and may survive upto 5 to 7 years.

Hope you understand well now.
Thanks and regards
