Question: Hi, my three year old grandson is showing signs of a yeast infection. Is it safe to use lotrimin anti fungal on the area, or should he be seen?

I have gone through your query and understand your concern. The first thing that I would need to ask you about is what exactly makes you think that your grandson has a yeast infection? As such, Lotrimin (clotrimazole) is safe to be used and you can use it if fungal infection is suspected.

There is redness, lots of itching, and diaper rash cream has not worked. I am attaching image now. This has gone for four days now.There is no fever, or abdominal pain. He has been complaining of the area being itchy, and constantly grabbing the area as to itch it.

Thanks for writing back. I have checked the attached image. Indeed Lotrimin (clotrimazole) can be applied. Also give him some antiallergic like cetirizine once daily for the next few days.
