Brief Answer:
Continue with oral antibiotic for a week to 10 days

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I am dr.kakkar (dermatologist). I have gone through your query and i have viewed the images.
He has developed a furuncle which is bacterial skin and soft tissue infection (SSTI) of the skin.
I suggest him to continue with the prescribed medication as it would take abour a week or 10 days to heal.
He has been asked to take amoxicillin and clavulanic acid combination which is a good choice of oral antibiotic. I suggest you to continue with this antibiotic for a week.
In addition if the area becomes soft and fluctuant it would be better to drain the pus as it would hasten resolution.

Regards
