Hi Dr XXXXXXX

Is he diabetic and /or hypertensive ---- No
What medications is he currently using ---- Not much, local doctor prescription, using gas related pills.
Is he XXXXXXX meaning can he perform his daily life activities by himself or is there a restricted movement or bed bound patient.---> He is doing everything himself, but not eating solid food, only having crushed rice with butter milk and drinking milk, protien shake. Food(Rice) not getting digested.
Has an ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis or the lower limbs been done previously.----> Doctors tried endoscopy, couldn't complete it due to pain he is getting during the process.

He is in XXXXXXX just looking to get some first level counter medicines to use for the gas, constipation and leg swelling releaf and for digestion.

Thanks, XXXXXXX

Hello again

Based on your replies, the medication most appropriate for him would include a PPI like pantoprazole in combination with a pro kinetic like domperidone for at least one month.

Medication alone would help resolve the symptoms initially but lifestyle changes would also help in the long term control. Elevating the bed head, avoiding coffee, cola drinks, spicy foods, night time meals, taking regular exercise.

Ispaghula husk along with sodium picosulfate would be good options for constipation.

For the swelling in legs further investigations would be warranted as part of the workup. These include complete blood count , Serum albumin, urinalysis, renal function tests. Cardiovascular and pulmonary causes should also be assessed for by your doctor in this regard.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
