Brief Answer:
Cataract surgery, fast can be broken.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:

1. If nil orally, has been suggested, then ranitidine injection or pantoprazole injection will be helpful.
2. Not sure, about the type of surgery being planned. Unless, the surgery is being planned on general anesthesia, you can always break the fast. If you are ready to break fast, antacids, can be taken, which will give immediate comfort.

If its a cataract surgery, you can break the fast. Most of eye surgeries, are done under local anesthesia, so you can break the fast.

Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
