Question : Hello,
I have genital warts and was wondering if there is anything i can do besides applying topical. Is there a shot I can ask for at the docs office. Thanks
Ive been to a few doctors. They prescribe the cream and thats it. Theres got to be a shot or something? Theres even a bit of discoloration. This has been two years, but i can still feel tingling and the warts come back. I feel like its probably spread, but doctors take tests and tell me its just genital warts. Is there something i can ask or request from my next doctors visit, and could you recommend someone in the XXXXXXX are?

Brief Answer:
Either cautery or laser or freezing would be more effective

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query and I have noted down your concern.

You may either get them removed with a laser i.e CO2 Laser Or cauterised with an electocautery machine Or Freezing with liquid nitrogen. These are more effective methods for treatment of genital warts as compared to a topical cream. Unfortunately there is no shot or anything like that for treatment of genital warts.

Brief Answer:
Kindly upload an Image

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Discoloration is not much of a problem with warts. It is a minor problem if at all.
Is it hyperpigmentation, that you have? Can you upload an Image of the concerned area? I would like to have a look. You may upload an Image at "Reports Section" Or You may mail me an image at YYYY@YYYY with the subject line of this mail as Attention:Dr.Kakkar.

Many light bumps that dont pop out and just stay under the skin. I didnt mention it earlier, but sometimes the skin is pink and sensitive. With no sex or masturbation it still comes back

Brief Answer:
I suggest a procedure i.e either cautery or laser or freezing

Detailed Answer:
Hi. Thank you. I have reviewed the Image.

I can see some skin colored growths towards the base of penis. These look very much like genital warts. However I could not make much notice of the discoloration you mentioned earlier.
Warts can grow back specially if they are not removed completely. Sometimes new ones may spread from those already existing. Shaving this area favors spread because it facilitates autoinnoculation. Tt is always a better idea to get them all removed at once before new ones can form so as to eliminate the source of infection.
In my view it would be better for you to get them removed with a procedure i.e either with cautery Or laser or freezing.
I would like to know the cream which you were using for warts? As far as topical treatment is concerned only imiquimod cream and podophylotoxin are approved topical treatments for genital warts.

Brief Answer:
Most common genital warts are caused by hpv types 6 and 11

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Thank you for sharing the link. This (ranpirnase) seems to be an investigational treatment at present and requires more data to become an established method of treatment for genital warts.
Most (90%) of the genital warts are caused by hpv types 6,11 which are non-cancerous. Only 10% of genital hpv are caused by cancer causing hpv types i.e types 16 and 18. Moreover, body's own immunity also plays a role in getting rid of Hpv infection and most of infected individuals are ultimately free of Hpv infection after 1-2 years.
Unfortunately I have no idea about your country. I belong to XXXXXXX
HPV is a local skin infection and there is no involvement inside. Recurrence is not an uncommon thing and I think one of the treatment modalities that I had suggested you, would be more effective in getting rid of genital warts.
