Question: I have genital warts and am using a cream. Problem is, my skin is raw and it is also oozing so I have to use a pad which makes it so much worse! What do I do? Is there a cream for sensitive skin or something?

Brief Answer:
Secondary Infection neeeds to be controlled first

Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam

Welcome to this portal!

I am Dr V XXXXXXX a Sr Consultant Dermatologist.

From your description, it seems you have secondarily infected warts. In such a case, I have found best results when my patients were put on the following measures:

1 Keeping the area clean and dried up frequently.

2 Oral antibiotics like Amoxy_Clav to check secondary infection

3 Anti-inflammatory medication like Combiflam

4 Anti allergics like Levocetirizine to take care of itching sensation

After a few days, the lesions should shrink, stop oozing, and symptoms should subside. At that stage, intervention for warts like Podophylline or Radio-frequency should be considered. The creams are the same for every type of skin and in fact, the available ones are supposed to have been formulated keeping in mind that these suit sensitive skin as well.

I am sure you would be on the way to recovery by changing the line of treatment adapted to your case.

Wish you good health and rapid recovery!
