Question : I am having glucose injections in my knee to try to avoid surgery. Have you heard of this and it's effectiveness. I have had three rounds
Brief Answer:
This treatment exists and is showing good results in many patients
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.
There is a treatment named prolotherapy which includes injection of glucose (dextrose) in to joints to cause regeneration of the cartilages in patients affected with osteoarthtitis.
In a recent research it is concluded and I quote that "dextrose prolotherapy may result in safe, significant, sustained improvement of knee pain, function, and stiffness scores. "
Therefore 3 rounds of treatment should make you feel better and decrease your knee pain and discomfort.
Hope your query is answered.
