Hello and thanks for reply.

As you have mentioned clearly in your history that you do not have any gum problem or decayed teeth. Therefore, this clearly indicates that the origin is not from mouth.

Altered smell is related to mouth(infected teeth and gums),sinusitis,GERD,Chronic common cold and liver disorders.

Did you get them examined?Your recent blood test and blood pressure should also be examined. A through clinical evaluation by general physician is recommended. Please note liver disorders can also cause altered taste.

Therefore being a dentist I would say please seek help from MD medicine in this regard. It is definitely not due to dental(Teeth and gums) cause.

Had it been, due to dental causes there would have been definitely symptoms related to it,for which I have inquired. Also dental cause can be considered as a local cause and treated locally.

But if it is due to Gastro oesophageal reflux(GERD) or liver disorders then it requires immediate attention by your physician.

Meanwhile, you can continue with your oral hygiene measures that you are following and see your physician soon.

Please let me know for further doubts.
Thanks.
Take care.
