Question : my ex-husband has the gout. hereditary. what's the prescription drug that used to be taken back in the day when his father battled it? can you please recommend an over-the-counter for today, immediately, or recommend a home health remedy? Brief Answer:
Ibuprofen, ice
Detailed Answer:
Hi there
Thanks for the query
In the old times, Apple cider vinegar and Ginger root were used to treat GOUT.
He can take a Tablet Ibuprofen 400mg twice a day for 5 days for relief. He would also need Tablet Allopurinol 100mg twice a day for a month for long term control of uric acid. Allopurinol is a prescription drug.
He can ice the affected region.
He must avoid meat and their gravies, avocado, alcohol and especially beer.
I hope I have answered your query.
I will be available to answer your follow up queries.
