Suggest Treatment For Grade 3 Ductal Carcinoma

default
Posted on Fri, 1 Jul 2016
Question: I XXXXXXX XXXX seeing an oncologist tomorrow, and don't have a clue as to what to ask. I have invasive ductal carcinoma, grade 3. The surgeon, before turning me over to the oncologist, told me I was cancer free, as far as breast cancer goes, it had not spread. I had two surgeries, the second one was to check the lymph nodes, of which he removed one, and found that the tumor had not reached the muscle wall. When i went to the oncologist, he suggested the lasted treatment, which was very aggresive. I had to have a heart scan to see if my heart could withstand the treatment. It seems kind of harsh for what was told to me as the problem. What do I do.?

Brief Answer:
PLease, ask her what the exact diagnosis is?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about what is going on with your diagnosis and treatment. Before weighing in, it is important to understand what the exact problem is. In clear terms, ask your oncologist what the diagnosis is and what treatment options are they looking at. Also, ask whether this treatment is meant to make sure that no cancerous seeds are present and i=unidentified or whether any have been identified. This way, I will know how to be of more help to your after your visit. But from you information, it really seems you are being prepared for a possible chemotherapy treatment.

I wish you well and do keep me updated. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
