Question : I am an 84 year old female who has always had a head of thick, curly hair. This past year the hair is thinning and in some spots one can see my scalp. Anything I can do about this other than to invest in a wig?

None at this time

Brief Answer:
Please kindly provide a picture and some more information about your health

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using HCM to post your question.

I read carefully your query.
From what I am understanding seems like your hair is not falling gradually but with areas.
Would it be possible for you to send me a picture of some of these areas?
Is the skin on it scaly?
Which medicines are you using?- sometimes medicines make the hair fall as a side effect.

It may be as a result of a fungal infection, and in this case it may be cured by treating the infection.
It may also come as a result of medicines side effect, hormonal dis-balance, ect.

Whatever extra information you can give me about your health, the more will help me to understand the cause of the hair fall.

Looking forward to your follow-up question.

Regards.
