Suggest Treatment For Hairfall And Acne
Question: Hi Doc,
I was following up with u for my hairfall (Dandruff problem) and Ace..as advice by you im using 2% ketoconazole shampoo(Scalpe lotion) alternate days..i can see less dandruff but there is hair fall.you suggested :- (Elocon lotion once daily at night for just 2 weeks and then stop) can u let me know how my drops should i use?? for Acne u suggested Epiduo gel.. I Used this but it was burning after 20 mins and i had washed off my face it became red i think it did'nt suit my skin..as its sensitive..My pimples have reduced a bit but it has left out red marks on face (scar marks) can u pls suggest sutible for my skin..

Once your dandruff is effectively controlled, your hair fall would reduce too.
Continue with scalp lotion, alternate days.
Use Elocon lotion daily at night with a dropper 1.5ml -2 ml.
Epiduo gel can cause irritation as a side effect but it is a very effective antiacne topical medicine. The best way to use it is to begin with just 2 hour application once daily at night, then wash off.
Considering that you have irritation to epiduo gel, I would suggest that you discontinue it for the time being.
Use a gentle cleanser for face wash e.g cetaphil cleansing lotion, twice daily.
Use a moderately potent steroid e.g flutivate cream, twice daily for 3-5 days. That would effectively take care of the irritation part. Stop it after 3-5 days as soon as your skin irritation is gone.
Then, use Deriva-CMS gel instead of Epiduo gel, once daily at night.
I would also suggest cap. Microdox-LBX 100 mg, twice daily for 2-4 weeks
Day time you could use Aziderm 20 % gel over the whole affected area (rub it in gently with your finger tip), it works for both acne as well as acne marks.
