Question : Hello,

My father, aged 63 has been suffering of itching on his hands, back of the palm to be precise. We had a check up conducted, reports of which I am attaching...and the sugar level seems to be on the borderline. Could you please advise if this is a cause for concern ?

Brief Answer:
Blood sugar levels are normal.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your question.
Noted your concern.

Blood sugar report of your father is within normal limits.
Fasting blood sugar level below 100 & post-prandial blood sugar level below 140 are considered as absolutely within normal limits.
It may not have any relation with his symptoms.

In such situations I may suggest following evaluation -
- Detailed history taking & physical examination.
- Depending upon it there may be need for following investigations -
Complete Blood Count.
Renal Function Test including Urea, creatinine, electrolytes.
Calcium profile.
Liver Function Test including Bilirubin, liver enzymes.
Urine examination.
Thyroid function test.

Depending upon all this evaluation appropriate opinion can be suggested.

Hope this helps.
