Question : I was hit on my cheekbone and my temple by an aluminum refreeze bottle yesterday evening, I got a very extremely bad headache last night. Fell asleep around 3:15am, woke at 4am vomiting until around 7am. Now my ear feels swollen, my vision blurs on and off, the head ache is back, and I've vomited more. What is going on? Is the emergency room necessary?

Hello

Thank You for contacting HCM. My name is Dr Muhammad Ali Rauf & i will look into your problem.

I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way. Hit resulted in soft tissue swelling and sometimes the intensity disrupts the CSF in brain resulting in such situation. If i were your treating doctor then i would have advised following things:

- acetaminophen thrice a day for 3 days
- take complete rest for 1-2 days
- avoid lifting heavy weight
- take hot water in a rubber bottle and place it at the site of pain. It will give soothing effect.

Hopefully you will see improvement in 2-3 days BUT if condition remains same or aggravates then you need to visit hospital for further evaluation.
