Brief Answer:
benzodiazepine group of drugs will be useful

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,

Thanks for writing to us. I can understand your concern.
Your problem is likely due to bruxism.

The diagnosis of bruxism is descriptive in nature, contingent on the presence of symptoms such as acknowledged tooth grinding, pain in the Temporo mandibular joint or jaw musculature, temporal headache, tooth hypersensitivity or mobility, ear symptoms and poor sleep quality. You are suffering from most of the symptoms.

Main treatment includes benzodiazepam group of drugs like clonazepam or lorazepam which act as anti anxiety, sedative and muscle relaxant. I have treated patients with lorazepam. Benzodiazepine drugs are prescription drugs and you need to consult doctor for the same.

Other approaches include Relaxation, Behavioral Strategies and Sleep Hygiene.

For headache and ear problem symptomatic treatment can be given for short duration.

Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further.
Regards,
Dr.Chintan Solanki.

My bruxism started like 3 or 4 years ago, but it rarely happened, like 6 months ago it started to be more often, once or twice a week, now it's every time i sleep, no matter if i sleep twice in a day. I've tried everything to relax due to the fact that my dentist says it is because of stress, but i've tried everything, tea, yoga, exercise, and it just gets worse

Brief Answer:
try pharmacological management

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Sorry for delayed response.

As such there is no specific established etiology of bruxism. Is comes under category of sleep related disorder. Sleep EEG is a useful investigation tool.
Stress play an important role but it is not always there.

I have got excellent results with pharmcotherpay. You have tried non- pharmacological approaches until now and those are for stress reduction. I strongly recommend pharmacological management in your case. Please consult doctor for the same.

Feel free to discuss further.
