Question: I have a very bad headache. I took 15mg of promethazine at 9:30

Can I take 1 aleve

Hi Phartgrove, thanks for asking from HCM.


I can understand your concern. You are having severe headache for which you have already taken Promethazine 15 mg. As there is no relief and you want to take tablet Aleve, you can take it. Aleve contains Naproxen which is used to treat minor headache. So there are chances that you might not get relief even after taking it.

If there is no relief even after taking Aleve, you can take

- Tablet Diclofenac with paracetamol
- Do head massage
- Avoid noise and lie down
- Take coffee/tea, as caffeine helps in headache
