Suggest Treatment For Headaches And Dizziness

Posted on Tue, 21 Jun 2016
Question: Hello. I have ongoing issues with my sinuses. I have a headache above both of my eyes and when it flares up I feel dizzy. It has been on and off for a while. When I take ibuprofen it seems to ease off. I just need an opinion as to what it could be before I go to my gp and to see if it can be treated without a visit to my doctor. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Frontal sinusitis, steam inhalation, antihistamine, ibuprofen

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
I have gone through your query.
Based on the information provided by I feel it might be frontal sinusitis.

I would insist on getting an X-Ray of the sinuses. Based on the findings further interventions can be planned.

I would insist you to take steam inhalation with few drops of eucalyptus oil in it, three to four times a day. Water in the form of vapor would reach deep inside and would help in diluting the secretions and would thus provide relief. You can use saline nasal drops which will be beneficial. Also take some antiallergic like cetirizine once daily for the next few days. An analgesic, antiinflammatory agent like ibuprofen will be beneficial in reducing inflammation in the sinuses and also addressing the headache.

This provisional advice provided by me is based entirely on the input provided to me. I would suggest examination by the doctor.

I hope this suggestion might be of some help to you. Please accept my answer in case you do not have further queries.
Take care.

Brief Answer:
Accumulation of secretion in sinus, resulting in sinusitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
There will be accumulation of secretion in the sinuses resulting in sinusitis. That need to be drained. This can be facilitated by steam inhalation. This is what I meant.

I hope this suggestion might be of some help to you. Please accept my answer in case you do not have further queries.
Take care.
