Suggest Treatment For Headaches, Pain In The Neck And Ear Aches

Question : My eye Dr. thought I had pseudo tumor but I could still see colors so she doesn't think it's my eyes and have been referred to a neurologist. My symptoms are visual, headaches, pain in my neck going up right side of head. My right ear aches. I an nauseous and eat crackers a lot. I'm scared and I think I am not getting anywhere. I haven't been able to work because I first had the influenza A which went to bronchitis which exacerbated my asthma. My husband says I need to get going and get back to work but I feel awful most of the time. What should I do. I'm getting a little scared. I am 56 and over weight which I know is a big part of it. In 2009 they thought I had lupus but no systemic problems except a pos ana. Are they connected.

I am Dr Dadapeer k an ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye.
I reviewed your history.
These symptoms of nausea, headache, pain in the neck, over weight.... requires neurological examination to rule out conditions like pseudo tumour cerebri.
This occurs because of increased intracranial pressure and is also called as benign intracranial hypertension.
The diagnosis is one of exclusion and requires imaging of brain in the form of CT or MRI scan.
However this can be treated and further problems can be prevented, hence no need to be worried much.
The treatment is by using drugs to reduce pressure like Acetazolamide.

Hence I advice you to consult your neurologist for examination and treatment accordingly.

I monitored my blood pressure for 2 weeks. Highest it got was 132/83 so was told it isn't caused from my b/p. My eye Dr. said because I could see colors that it wasn't caused by my eyes and that's why she feels I need to be referred. I am a nurse and believe me I have read so much about this that maybe I'm reading more into it I just want to feel good again. Thanks for answering my question.
