Question : I have been getting daily throbbing headaches usually on the left side but can radiate anywhere. I have been to the chiropractor, he adjusts they then go away until the next day. How can I stop getting them? When they come all I want to do is sleep.

Brief Answer:
Vascular headache to be ruled out

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,welcome to HCM forum.

I have read your query, and understand your concerns.

Common causes of unilateral headache are sinusitis, refractory errors of eye, vascular headache, neuralgia etc.
If causes like sinusitis(usually associated with nasal congestion/discharge), refractory errors of eye(but this is more common in young age) etc are ruled out, we have to think of vascular headache like migraine.
Factors suggesting vascular headache include aura(features like nausea/visual disturbances just before onset of headache), emotional disturbances(like anger) during headache, symptomatic relief on sleeping, exacerbation on noise/sunlight etc.

In your case it looks like vascular headache.
Treatment will depend on the cause.
If caused by vascular headache, there are effective medicines that are available for both prophylaxis and treatment. Also,we have to exclude any precipitating factors like some food items/mental or physical stress etc.

So it will be fine if you could see your primary care physician for evaluation.
Meanwhile, you can take simple analgesics like acetaminophen or ibuprofen for symptomatic relief. Also, have a healthy diet rich in fruits and green leafy veges, and drink enough fluids.

Hope this answer will be helpful.
Wishing you a faster and complete cure.
Thank you.
