Brief Answer:
Please get him evaluated if the condition recurs

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

I won't get overly worried for single brief episode of fast hear beat (palpitation)if it is not associated with blurring of vision, loss of conciousness or chest pain.
You have mentioned that his father was suffering from congenital heart disease. Most of the congenital heart disease presents in early age group (less than 10 years of age)but some may have delayed presentation.
So I would suggest you to get him evaluated by a physician to rule out any abnormality and to alleviate your anxiety.Depending on the availability of physician you can also wait for the recurrence of next episode as the initial episode was asymptomatic .

I hope this helps.
Please do ask if you have any more query.
Regards
