Question: Hi I am really nervous. I went to my annual Gyno appt today. She said she felt some fullness on 1 of my ovaries and wants me to get a transvaginal and pelvic ultrasound. I have been having some gastro problems the last few months on and off indigestion, bloating occasional heartburn went to gastro dr thinks it's acid reflux and wants to do endoscopy. I have not done the procedure yet I'm a chicken. Also I have been having frequent urination on and off for about a year sometimes a couple of days and than normal for several weeks. I also have MS and told my neurologist he said could be from the MS. Anyway when I got home from gyno today I googled ovary fullness and ovarian cancer came up with some of the symptoms being the frequent urination and bloating. I am going for ultrasound thurs.. I am so scared that I have ovarian I am beside myself. What is your opinion on this. So scared. Thanks XXXX

Brief Answer:
Be brave

Detailed Answer:
hi there,
Welcome to HCM,

it's probably nothing and an ultrasound of pelvis is a painless and accurate way to access the ovaries and tell us if everything is OK.

just get it done as soon as you can and save yourself all the overthinking and anticipation.

hope this helps.
Regards

Brief Answer:
Do not worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The symptoms of ovarian cancer are weight loss ( drastic like 10 kilos in 2 months), Fatigue, loss of hair, abdominal distension, feeling of mass in abdomen. You have none of these.

If she feels its fullness, that means she has observed the ovaries and not felt any huge cyst, solid areas or calcifications, which all indicate ovarian cancer.

Fullness of ovaries could be a normal finding or it could be due to mild infections, very rarely due to cancer.

So do not worry.

Get the examination done to feel relaxed. but I wouldn't worry.

Hope this helps.
Regards.
