Brief Answer:
she needs thorough check-up and a few investigations to clarify further..

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX Welcome back to HCM,
I've gone through your query and understand your concern for your mother,

First of all, please note that the previous post-partum history of 27 years ago doesn't seem to pertain to it..

Let me know few more details so that I can guide you more specifically in this regard -

Is it involving both the legs below knees ?

Does it happen all of a sudden or any particular activity (like walking, climbing stairs or any other) ?

Is there any any visible swelling ? if yes then try to press it against the bony prominence and observe if there's any pitting involved or not ?

Any redness/discoloration over the area ?

Any joint pain ?

Is there any history of trauma/ any cardiac ailments/ hypertension/ kidney disease/ or any other medical/ surgical ailments ?

What relieves/worsens it ?

Is she on any particular medication for any ailments ?

When was the last time she had her preventive health check-up done and how were the results ?

Pain in legs can be due to numerous causes, so please provide all these specific details so that I can guide you accordingly..

Awaiting....

Take Care
Kind Regards

it's not all of sudden, she used to have pain in both legs due to extra weight (heavy legs) in her legs. there is extra flash near the knee which is increasing. there is no redness anywhere. pain get worsen while standing. there is difficulty in climbing stairs. visible swelling is around knees. there is no history of any ailment.
massage relieves and standing and walking worsen it.curently no medication taking.
she had chicken guinea last month but now better. at that time health checkup were done and everything was ok.
as what I studied on internet seems blood cell accumulation might be on of the reason but only doctor can confirm, when she had chicken guinea then she told about this pain then doc prescribed some medicine for fasten blood flow. she took that medicine 2 or three days but with no effect.
please let me know if any further question.

Follow the Advises..

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX Welcome back,
Thanks for following up with the details,

As per the description, it seems to be secondary changes due to chikungunya only (most likely post chikungunya arthritis), avoid massaging the area as it can cause detrimental effects to it..

Since there's already swelling around the knees, and so much difficulty in walking, I'd suggest you to schedule an appointment with either a Rheumatologist or an Internal Medicine Specialist without any further delay.. there's a need to examine the area (any indwelling infection of the joint should be ruled out by this), and a few relevant investigations (X-ray AP-Lateral views of the knee joints, CBC, CRP, serum electrolytes and/ a few special investigations after the clinical examination as per the findings i.e. Rh-factor, ANA etc.)..

Time is important, as swelling has to be reduced without further delay after proper clinical examination to improve movement and minimize any damage to the joints..once infection of the joints ruled out, and the diagnosis is confirmed, she can be put on specific medications to reduce the swelling and pain in this regard (oral Corticosteroids in tapering dosage along with Sulfasalazine and/ low dose Methotrexate as per the advice of the Rheumatologist)..

In the meantime, start taking Tab PARACETAMOL 650mg three times daily after food for next 4-5 days..

Cap PANTOPRAZOLE 40MG Once Daily in empty stomach for next 7 days..

Apply local analgesic spray containing Diclofenac two to three times daily..

Keep the limb elevated and avoid strenuous activities..

Please don't delay anymore and get these necessary things done in the first place and do let me know how she stays in the due course..

Kind Regards
