Brief Answer: CYCLOREG CAN BE TAKEN TO REDUCE BLEEDING. Detailed Answer: Hello, Thanks for writing to us. First of all, heavy bleeding may occur among some percentage peri-menopausal age group women. It occurs due to hormonal imbalance, caused by dysfunction of ovary & without proper ovulation, leads to progesterone deficiency. We have to rule out other possible causes of heavy bleeding in this context. These are as follows: 1) Uterine fibroid & polyp (body and cervical region) 2) Adenomyosis or endometrial hyperplasia 3) Dysfunctional uterine bleeding (DUB) 4) Use of certain medication etc. Complete physical examination including pelvic/ speculum exam and colposcopy (if indicated) is needed to rule out underlying pathology and confirm diagnosis. Possibilities can be narrowed by several investigations like blood test for thyroid profile & clotting factor abnormality, Ultrasound scan for pelvis, Pap smear test to detect cancerous changes and endometrial biopsy (which may be needed). TREATMENT: There is certain treatment protocol with initiation of haemostatic agent (like TRAPIC/ PAUSE) combined with oral progesterone tab. CYCLOREG contains Norethisterone and it can be given to reduce or control bleeding. If above medical treatment fails to control bleeding, then approach would be surgical by the means of Dilation and curettage (D&C), Operative hysteroscopy to remove polyp, endometrial ablation in case of hyperplasia. Lastly, total hysterectomy (removal of uterus, tube & cervix) is the ideal choice in your age group if family is completed. So, please consult with your gynecologist. It would definitely be required for suggestive measures. Hope, I have answered your query. If you don't have any other query, you can close the discussion. Brief Answer: CONTINUE CYCLOREG AS PRESCRIBED. Detailed Answer: Hello, Thanks for giving detailed test reports and follow up query. Your test results are within NORMAL range (mostly) EXCEPT one cystic lesion on Right Adnexa and functional cyst in left ovary. Right sided cyst is slightly large. However, it DOESN'T bother your heavy period bleeding. In this case, I suggest you to follow current treatment i.e CYCLOREG (oral progesterone supplement) and Hemostatic agent (like TRAPIC or PAUSE) if needed. It will be helpful for you to control bleeding. Do yearly check up to your GYNECOLOGIST for follow-up. Hope, it helps for you. Kindly, close the discussion. All the best and good luck. Regards, Dr Soumen
